Exclusion Management

The Exclusion Management System allows organizations to ignore specific findings from Insight reports, ensuring reports are tailored, more focused, and actionable. This is particularly useful for excluding irrelevant findings, enhancing decision-making efficiency.

How it helps

Organizations often encounter findings that are irrelevant to their goals. The Exclusion Management System addresses this by enabling users to define rules that filter out unnecessary findings. These exclusions ensure:

• Removes irrelevant findings – Reduces report clutter.
• Enhances report accuracy – Focuses on important insights.
• Provides flexible control – Temporarily or permanently exclude findings.
• Improves efficiency – Enables teams to act on key findings faster.

Steps to Create Exclusion Rules

Let’s create an exclusion rule with an example. Follow these steps:

Rules Activation

The Exclusion Rule will be applied every time the finding aggregation runs, which occurs every 4 hours.

1. Navigate to "Discover" > "Insights" > "Settings" > "Exclusion Management".

2. Click on Create Rule and configure the following filters:
   • Benchmarks: Select benchmarks like Cost, AWS CIS, etc.
   • Cloud: Choose the cloud platform (e.g., Azure).
   • Check: Define specific checks to exclude (e.g., Unused disk should be removed).
   • Status: Select the status (e.g., Fail).
3. Click Next: Configure to proceed.

4. (Optional) Specify an Exclude Until date. If left empty (null), the findings are excluded permanently.
5. Click Create to finalize the rule.

Example: Excluding Cost Benchmarks

A rule named "Exclusion-policy-cost" excludes cost-related findings from Discover > Insights > Cost > Detail Graphs, resulting in cleaner, focused reports. Similar rules can be created for Security and Compliance dashboards. By leveraging this system, organizations can streamline their insights, focus on key issues, and drive better outcomes. 🚀
